Phase 2 Tsawout Multiplex Applications Open Now
Tsawout First Nation and the Tsawout Housing Association are pleased to announce that applications are now open for Phase 2 of the Tsawout Multiplex.
Tsawout First Nation and the Tsawout Housing Association are working together to support the application, tenant selection, and long-term operation of this new housing development.
We will be reviewing all previously submitted applications, so if you have already applied for the Multiplex, you do not need to submit a new application unless your household information has changed. We are also accepting new applications from eligible community members who wish to be considered for tenancy in Phase 2.
The Phase 2 tenancy process will begin on August 1, 2026. During this time, applications will be reviewed, eligibility will be confirmed, and applicants will be contacted regarding the next steps in the tenancy process.
Priority for tenancy will be given to eligible Tsawout First Nation band members. All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of the BC Housing Indigenous Housing Fund program, including the applicable household income limits and other program criteria.
The tentative move-in date is October 1, 2026, subject to construction completion and final occupancy approvals.
Why are Phase 2 rental rates different from Phase 1?
We understand that community members may notice that the rental rates for Phase 2 are significantly lower than those in Phase 1. Multiplex community.

Phase 2 was developed through funding provided by BC Housing’s Indigenous Housing Fund, which supports deeply subsidized affordable housing. As a condition of this funding, the Phase 2 units must follow BC Housing program requirements, including established rental rates, maximum household income limits, and eligibility criteria.
Although Phase 1 and Phase 2 are located within the same development, they are separate housing projects with different funding agreements. Because of these different funding models, the rental rates and eligibility requirements are not the same.
The lower rental rates in Phase 2 are made possible through BC Housing’s subsidy program and are intended to make housing more affordable for eligible households.
