First Salmon Ceremony 2026

SȾÁUTW̱ Lands and Environment invites community members to the First Salmon Ceremony & Canoe Blessing on June 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at ȾIX̱EṈ / Cordova Spit. Held in celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day, this gathering will honour our Ancestors, sacred place, and W̱SÁNEĆ traditions through ceremony, canoe blessing, SȾOLE reef net teachings, youth Tribal Journeys canoe blessing, drum-making demonstration, guided native plant walks, vendor tables, interactive booths, lunch, traditional teas, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and use the available shuttle service to help protect this sensitive environment.
